I am so very sad and sorry to hear about your death, dear Gabby. I first met you at the Survey in autumn 1983 when I came from Poland on a British Council scholarship. You were so extremely kind to me and and agreed to discuss my work at length. I shall never forget your kindness for which I shall always be grateful.

Dear Gabi, we shall both remember you as a fine friend and much esteemed colleague. It was a privilege to know you.
Gabi will be fondly remembered and much missed by colleagues (past & present) on the A.S. Hornby Educational Trust of which she was a distinguished member.
I will continue to remember her for her great generosity, and her support for other scholars.

She was a real Lady long before she married the late Lord Quirk. I deeply regret her passing away so early. When we last met in Tübingen, she simply took me into her arms in memory of the joyful days we had there when we were students. May Gabi rest in Peace.
