Frank Ettrich

Prof Frank Ettrich was one of the most important intellectuals and academics working at the newly re founded University in ERfurt afer the fall of the Berlin Wall . Without his knowledge and experience having lived and studied in the Soviet and DDR systems, the new University would have been without one of its most important teachers . Frank Ettrich was brilliant,his classes overflowing and his presence in committees and his inexhaustible care for students and colleagues has left the university in mourning. He was incredibly suportive and had a rare emotional intelligence that is sorely missed .  Prof Ettrich helped build and create Erfurt university from its very inception.   My deepest sympathies to his family and closest freinds , Lelah Bender-Ferguson
